Census Seminar Series: Module 2 | Part 2 – Practical Advocacy Tools for Community Leaders

Loading Events

The Census Seminar Series provides a foundational framework for understanding what the census and the ACS are and how they interplay with many aspects of American society, such as civil rights issues, federal funding, and the role of Congress and other government agencies. Module 2 will explore the role of Congress in determining a fair and accurate count, through appropriations and other legislative levers.

Part 2 will equip participants with practical advocacy tools (i.e., lobbying, sign-on letters, etc.) that can influence change and champion a fair and accurate census. Subject matter experts will provide an overview of effective advocacy strategies, highlight real-world examples of how census data strengthens communities, and demonstrate its critical role in shaping state funding and local resources. Participants will leave with concrete approaches to elevate their advocacy efforts and ensure every community is counted.
